Parquet Flooring
French parquet panelling is known as the 'Queen of Parquet Flooring'. There are many variations of the pattern, and most are more or less faithful to the original. Square and rectangular shapes, but also star and diamond patterns are stuck or bonded together to form further complex patterns. The panels, which are laid in a straight or diagonal formation, are often complemented with a surrounding frieze. Strip parquet known as herringbone is a very popular way of laying the tiles, where the size of the blocks and their angle are the key features.
