The Ancient Greeks were the first to also begin erecting sculptures in their gardens, however it was only during the Renaissance and the 18th century that the art of making garden statues reached its peak. From the 18th century, statues were cast and manufactured in bulk. The figures presented here are frost-proof conglomerate stone.

Vases/Sculptures

The Medici Vase is the best-known type of vase and has been copied several times. It can be found with or without handles, often with plinths, adorned with facades, balustrades, orifices and arcades. The most popular sculptures are probably the four seasons and numerous cherubs; animal sculptures are principally lions and dogs, often life-sized.
